Just Breathe -Everything Is Going To Be Ok
It’s Going To Be Ok… Just Breathe
Sometimes we all need to remember to just breathe and yesterday was definitely one of those days for me. While baking zucchini bread with my 3 ½ year old daughter, she spilled flour all over the floor and instantly she said to me “It’s ok mom. Just take a deep breath.” It’s always amazing to me how a little child can know exactly what to say at just the right moment. I laughed out loud when she said that. She was right, I just needed to take a deep breath and everything was going to be alright.
Building a new house is a very exciting time, but it can also be a very stressful process. Life is busy (I’m a full-time wedding photographer in the middle of my busy season), our current house is being sold this week, and lots of important decisions need to be finalized this week for the new house (electrical, plumbing, etc.), not to mention there’s still a lot of packing to be done before we move.
What a great reminder from my sweet little girl that right now I just need to breathe. And for anyone else who is also feeling overwhelmed in the process right now, remember “just breathe” and take a moment for yourself. Whether you go for a walk, take a nap, enjoy a cup of coffee, or just do nothing for the moment, remember that at times the building process is difficult, but this moment will pass.
I found myself listening to this song by Taylor Swift as I wrote this blog post:
For those of you who have built (or maybe are in the process building a house right now) what did you find to be the hardest part of the home build process? I’d love to hear from you!
