Sharing My Love For Gardening
For those of you who don’t know me, I have always had a love for gardening. My grandfather loved to garden, my mother loves to garden, and so do I. I guess you could say it’s in my blood. My hope is that my daughter, Olivia will some day love gardening just as much. Every summer I plant my dahlias (I’ve had as many as 60+ dahlia plants growing in my garden). This summer I only planted 20 dahlia plants as I knew that we would be moving this fall into our farmhouse.
Already I am looking forward to next spring when I can plant even more dahlias (and other flowers too) at our modern farmhouse. Soon we will have a large space in our front yard that gets full sun all day and will be perfect for my flower garden.
Recently I was introduced to Floret Flower’s instagram account. If you haven’t seen her incredible flower garden photos, I highly recommend you check her out. Her page is sure to bring a smile to your face. Recently I ordered her book, “Floret Farm’s Cut Flower Garden” on Amazon and I can’t wait to follow her advice for growing a better home flower garden.
Last night my husband captured these photos as Olivia and I picked these dahlias for our fresh flower bouquets. Seeing these flowers in my house brings a smile to my day and brightens the room.
Now it’s your turn to comment below. Let me know what gardening questions you have. Do you like gardening? Do you have any favorite flowers? I’d love to hear from you!
Thank you for continuing to follow our family’s journey as we build our dream house in Hood River. May you all have a wonderful week.
Your flowers are gorgeous!
Thank you! I absolutely love gardening. Soon I will have a monthly download of flower desktop photos if you’re interested!
The photos of you and your daughter radiate your love. What a special memory and hobby you are creating with your family. I wish I had the space to garden but sadly I don’t.
Thank you Colleen! I used to have a very small space and could only garden in small planters. Hope someday you will have space to garden too!
