Perhaps my favorite room to design in our home was our daughter’s mermaid themed bedroom. Ever since our daughter was just a toddler, she has loved the water and mermaids. When we started building our new home, we asked her what theme she wanted for her bedroom. She instantly said “PINK” and “Mermaids.”
First I designed the mermaid wall prints for the bedroom while still living at our old house. I went online to Creative Market and purchased the mermaid images. I had them printed and then I framed them. We decided to use the colors from the pictures to design the rest of the room.

Next, I found this adorable pastel pink, turquoise, and purple bed spread and pillows from Pottery Barn Kids. Also, I found the chandelier on sale at Pottery Barn Kids. I found a soft woven pink throw to go with the bedding. And then I found these pink curtains from Amazon Home.
My favorite part of this bedroom is the surfboard that hangs on the wall. Our friend and local artist, Michelle Yamamoto hand painted this surfboard. When we saw it, we knew that it would be perfect in this mermaid themed bedroom.
Eventually I hope to refinish the wooden dresser set that’s in our daughter’s bedroom. This was my bedroom set as a child and I love that it now belongs to my daughter. I hope to paint it white with chalk paint.

Wow. I would have loved to have a room like this when I was younger. Your daughter is so lucky to have a mom like you. Awesome job!
Thank you Sierra! This was a fun room to design with my daughter!
