So often we see before and after photos of a remodel, so I figured, why not share a before, during, and after photo of our modern farmhouse build đ¤ˇâ

Although very different, building a house can be very similar to remodeling a home. The process certainly doesn’t happen over night and often begins with just a simple dream or vision.â
â
For us, we’d been looking for land for quite some time and we hadn’t been able to find anything in our budget that fit our specific home needs. We knew that we wanted to build a new house vs remodel because we needed space to accommodate my in-home photography studio. Building a home allowed us to save money so that I would no longer have to lease commercial space for my newborn photography business and it also allowed me more time at home with our daughter.â
Building A Home Starts With A Vision
Anyway, the process of building a home often starts with a simple vision, drawings, and finding the right spot to call home. After that comes lots of steps to put the vision in place. There’s architecture plans, building permits, etc. And then, once the process actually begins, just like remodeling a home, you often have many surprises and unforeseen obstacles/hurdles. Quite often these surprises or hurdles come in the form of time delays (perhaps a material was delayed or no longer available) and sometimes items on your bucket list become much more expensive than you imagined (which is why they always say budget 10-15% over for unexpected items).â
What Really Matters
In the end however, whether you choose to build or remodel a home, what really matters is the people inside the home. We all work so hard to create a safe and loving environment and really whether or not you have black windows, an extra bedroom, custom finishes, or any other home features, it won’t change what’s truly important inside your home đâ

If you could pick, would you choose to build đ¨ a new home or remodel đ an existing house?â

Very good write-up. I certainly love this website.
Itâs hard to come by experienced people about this subject, but you seem like you know what you are talking about! Thanks
Looks like a good looking home. I love the design. Did you hire contractors for this?
