Free Printable Flower Valentine Cards

These free Valentine Printable Cards were inspired by my love for flowers. I have always been “that mom” that buys the grocery store Valentine cards for my daughter’s classroom. This year I decided that it would be fun to make our own Valentines to add more of a personalized touch. Being a flower farmer, I also wanted to incorporate flowers into our Valentine DIY cards.

Since it’s not really the right time of year to plant flowers in the garden, I thought that it would be fun to give my daughter’s friends seeds that can later be planted in their gardens. I’ve seen paper seed crafts before so I turned to Pinterest for ideas on how to put seeds into paper and found this easy to follow and kid friendly DIY from JaMonkey.

Flower Puns For Valentine Cards

Next, I searched the internet for cute flower and herb puns and came up with the following sayings that I especially liked:

“Will you be my Valen-thyme.”

-“We’re mint to be friends”

-“Not a daisy goes by that I don’t think about you.”

-“You’re my best bud.”

After deciding upon my favorite flower and herb puns, I decided to create a set of four Valentine Printable Cards. These cards can be printed out on letter sized paper and then cut into four cards. I used card stock paper to make the cards more durable for little hands.

Next, my daughter and I followed JaMonkey’s DIY Seed Paper Hearts tutorial. My daughter had fun tearing the strips of paper and stirring in the seed packets (we purchased seed packets at our local nursery). While it was fairly quick to make the seed paper hearts, they took a long time to dry. Our seed paper hearts took about 2 full days to air dry (this project does need to be done in advance).

Once the DIY Seed Paper Hearts were dry, it was time to cut out our hearts. We used a heart cookie cutter to trace hearts on the paper. We cut the hearts out and then used one drop of glue to adhere them to the Valentine card.

And that’s it! You have yourself a cute DIY Valentine Card. These are perfect for classroom Valentine exchanges, giving to friends and neighbors, or bringing to a Valentine party.
