This year I succession planted ranunculus. My November planted ranunculus are starting to shut down already, but my January planted ranunculus are still going strong. I spent the other day cleaning up all the ranunculus that had blown open in the heat, and I’m crossing my fingers for another nice flush before it heats up again.

Ranunculus season has been very short lived this year! Normally our ranunculus bloom into June, but this year the heat already has them starting to shut down.
I did manage to harvest this bunch of “Amandine Chamallow” Ranunculus and take this Timelapse this past week. This is definitely one of my favorite ranunculus varieties.

I’m not normally a big fan of red flowers unless it’s this particular peony. This is Christmas Velvet and it’s hands down my favorite red flower and one of my favorite peonies. It’s a deep red with large, full petals. If you’re looking for a beautiful red peony, add this one to your garden!

It’s peony season and my very first peonies to bloom are Pastel Elegance!
This is my absolute favorite peony. Two years ago I planted 10 Pastel Elegance plants and I’ve been waiting for the day when I could harvest from them. You’re technically supposed to wait until year 3 before cutting, but I couldn’t resist ;) I did buy these as 5-7 roots so they are already quite large plants and I only cut 5-6 inch stems on these. Next year these plants should be huge!
